I have heard the first time of the VSLO festival in 2011, from Facebook as I can remember, I didn’t give it much attention. A festival held in Vama Veche didn’t mean much to me at that time. A while after, in 2013, I met Catalin, he needed some prints of Marek’s photos, in limited edition, Digigraphy. It seemed to me as he was this person who knew what he was doing, and more than that, a person that put his soul in what he was doing. I then participated to Marek workshop and I was positively impressed by the atmosphere, the enthusiasm of the participants and the professionalism of the organizers. I skipped for two years the festival, but I came back in 2016, at the seminar “A print for each one” that I held together with Cornel Lazia, one of my first clients in the art printing category. I was once more impressed by the festival, by the curiosity of the participants and by the unique atmosphere, specific to this place. I then came back, every year, as a participant, at list for 2-3 days, days when I abandoned my children and wife on the beach in order to participate to as many workshops as possible, followed by the good time I had by night with walks between concerts and movie projections. In order not to bore you I will summarize, VSLO is about photography (but not only about photography), it is free of charge, it is unique, it is beautiful and I hope with all my soul that the organizers, Catalin and Andreea, will find financial and soul resources to continue this soul project. May you have a long and happy life, VSLO!
